L’Oreal Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence Review

L’Oreal Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence Review

In recent times one skincare product that I have been seeing a lot is Essence. At first, I thought essence is also toner but a little research on it proved me wrong. However, my guess wasn’t totally off they are in fact toners but they are quick-absorbing toners. Usually, it is recommended by dermatologists to use toners with a cotton pad but the essence can be applied directly to the face. Then I decided to buy one for myself and purchased a popular choice L’Oreal Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence. As soon as I saw the product is enriched with Centella and Salicylic acid I was intrigued to buy it. Keep reading if you want to see my complete L’Oreal Paris Crystal Micro Essence Review.

What is L’Oreal Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence?

L’Oreal Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence is specifically made to brighten your skin and make it look crystal clear. The main purpose of this essence is skin exfoliation and renewal which it does by refining pores and minimizing texture.

L’Oreal Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence Ingredients:

I am a big fan of those skincare products that have one or two main ingredients. That formula is often made to counter one specific skincare issue which is better than general claims. This L’Oreal essence has 3 main ingredients that ensure clear, bright skin.

Salicylic Acid: Salicylic is the most loved exfoliating formula that removes acne and marks. (Note: If you are using salicylic acid for the first time your skin would take time to adjust and in the meantime, you might experience a small outbreak. Still, if the pimples or any sort of dryness/itchiness doesn’t show improvement in a day then it is advised to go to a dermatologist.)

Madecassoside: Madecassoside heals skin and soothes it, you’ll find it in the most effective skin-repairing creams.

Adenosine: Adenosine works great to prevent wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines.

Packaging: One thing the L’Oreal brand is known for is its classy packing. This essence also comes in a sleek transparent bottle that feels quite luxurious. One advantage of it being transparent is that you can see that the product is filled to its maximum capacity. I find the opening technique of the bottle quite old-school as the cap needs to be rotated instead of flipped.

Color & Texture: The essence has no color and its texture is just like water. The essence is quite thin and it doesn’t feel sticky at all. It’s so weightless and runny that you can’t differentiate between two drops of essence and two drops of water. It quickly absorbs into the skin which makes it ideal for all those people who don’t like heavy and sticky skincare products.

Scent: L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro Essence has an extremely pleasant mild scent. The fragrance doesn’t stay for too long as soon as you put it onto the skin it wears off within a few minutes.

Warning: This essence has alcohol, perfume, and other irritants that could be harmful for people with sensitive skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis.

My Experience:

This essence was first introduced in the set of Revitalift anti-aging by L’Oreal. Unlike the other products in the range, this is suitable for even younger people. When I bought this essence I didn’t have any high expectations from it and it turned out to be a good thing. In the first week, I didn’t see any major difference in my skin, it just felt a little smoother than usual. Then I started using this essence with multiple combinations like essence+moisturizer or essence+sheet mask. After this, I saw my skin looked more moisturized.

Since the product is meant to unclog pores and make skin appear smoother, I also used it as a primer, and frankly, it works well as a primer. If you are going for a natural look and don’t want to apply heavy primer then this essence would work great. I think people who have extremely dehydrated skin should try this essence as the formula isn’t harsh and it would slowly heal it without causing any damage in the long run.

I personally liked this essence but I would truly be able to decide its ranking once I have tried 3 or 4 more similar products from different brands. The good thing L’Oreal did with this product is they released it in 3 different sizes so everyone could have their pick. It comes in the size of 22ml, 60ml, and 130ml. If you just want to try it out go with the travel size and if the formula suits you then go for bigger sizes.

Pros:

  • Range of sizes
  • Great for oily skin
  • Smoothens skin
  • Works well with any moisturizer

Cons

  • Takes weeks to show results
  • Contains irritants like alcohol and perfume
