In the skincare community, there are two types of people one who loves product sets and others who don’t. I have always counted myself in the second category as I prefer trying different products each one having different formula. Recently Neutrogena launched its Cellular Boosting Anti-aging set and I decided to buy their Neutrogena Cellular Boost Anti-Ageing Day Cream SPF 20 from it. I bought the cream mainly for my mother but I have been also using it just to see the difference it shows on a 20-something skin and 40-something.
What is Neutrogena Cellular Boost Anti-Ageing Day Cream SPF 20?
The anti-aging day cream claims to visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles within 4 weeks. The cream has SPF 20 which would protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB sun rays. Another key ingredient in its formula is Vitamin C, the most coveted ingredient that removes blemishes and balances the uneven skin tone. Let’s see how the product performed and if it’s worth your attention.
REVIEW
Packaging: First of all full marks for packaging. It comes in a sleek transparent glass jar that is made of high-quality material. One of my biggest pet peeves is when jars have low-quality caps but luckily this one isn’t like that. When you’ll rotate the lid it glides smoothly. The cream is of beautiful beige color with a thick consistency. The jar is travel-friendly and if you’ll secure the cap tightly there is no fear of leakage.
Application: Firstly you need to do your complete morning skincare routine which requires cleaning the face, toning it, and then applying moisturizer. After this apply the Neutrogena Cellular Boost Anti-Ageing Day Cream SPF 20 with soft fingers. Don’t forget to spread it to your neck as well. Then you can either leave it at this step or can continue with your makeup.
Fragrance: This might be disappointing for many people but the cream has a very strong fragrance. When I say strong I am not even exaggerating. It has a pleasant smell for sure but the quantity of the fragrance is a lot. If a person sitting next to you is applying that cream then you can easily smell it. If you have skin issues like eczema, psoriasis, or perfume allergy then I would recommend not using this cream. However, if you are someone who likes their cream and lotions to have good scents then this would be a great product for you.
My Experience
As I said earlier this day cream was used by me and my mother simultaneously and I was really surprised by the results. The cream has a prominent beige color which means it doesn’t completely blend into the skin. When I applied it, the cream left a certain white cast on my face. This cream would work well under makeup. One thing you need to know is that the cream is not exactly light-weight but it also doesn’t feel too heavy. Personally, the texture and consistency didn’t bother me much. The glow this cream provides really stays for the whole day, it only wore off when I washed my face.
On my skin, the cream only worked as a good moisturizer but I did see a noticeable difference in my mother’s skin. It truly lightened the marks and made her skin look brighter. If you are someone whose skin isn’t uneven and has prominent sun damage then this would work just as a regular moisturizer for you. In that case, this cream can an expensive purchase for you.

Final Thoughts
I have quite mixed feelings about this product because it’s not a bad cream but it also isn’t a great one. It’s one of those creams that you would only purchase once and won’t again not because they were bad because they were average. Neutrogena Anti-Ageing Day Cream already filters out its market by adding the fragrance as many people like unscented skincare products. I would only encourage you to use this as a brightening cream that too if you have prominent hyperpigmentation.
