If there is one skincare brand that has never been disappointed with its quantity and quality, that’s Aveeno. Earlier, I reviewed Aveeno Dermaxa Emollient after seeing it working wonders on eczema-damaged skin. After that, I was always interested in trying another Aveeno product.
So when winter arrived, I bought the Aveeno Moisturizing Lotion. To write this review, I used the product for three months. I have combination skin with occasional dry patches and oily T-zone. To be honest, I didn’t exactly have many expectations as it is only advertised as a Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
Let me tell you why I decided to buy Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Basically, I spotted it on the dressing table of a lot of the celebs. The good thing was that they weren’t paid promotions, this is actually what a lot of them apply to hydrate their skin. Let me tell you what was my experience and what it did for my skin.
What is Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion?
Aveeno is a clean beauty brand. Like its other products, this one was also created with natural ingredients. In this particular lotion, the most active ingredients are Naturals Colloidal Oatmeal and rich emollients. The basic purpose of this product is very simple. It is meant to keep dry skin moisturized for 24 hours. The oatmeals also work as a soothing agent and this is why it is specially catered to sensitive skin. Aveeno has perfected the formula for an everyday use lotion with this one.

Water, glycerin, distearyldimonium chloride, petrolatum, isopropyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, Avena sativa (oat) kernel flour, benzyl alcohol, sodium chloride.
Review of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion
Packaging: Aveeno isn’t really fussy about its packaging. This lotion comes in its signature beige and dark green colored bottle. The size of the pump bottle is huge and it’s quite easy to get the product out through the pump. However, I have heard from people that it gets difficult to get the product out when more than half of it is used.
Size: I bought the big size which was a 300 ml pump bottle, there is an even bigger one, 532 ml. Aveeno moisturizing lotion also comes in smaller sizes i.e 100 ml and 200 ml. These sizes come in squeeze bottles, if you want one to keep in your purse, I’ll suggest 100 ml.
Scent: Aveeno has written fragrance-free on it. This is true as there is no added scent but if you sniff hard, you can sense a grainy oatmeal smell. But that’s very faint and definitely won’t irritate your skin.
My Overall Experience with Aveeno Moisturizing Lotion
Everything about Aveeno tells us that it’s a no-nonsense brand. From their efficient packaging to their uncomplicated formulas, it can be made out that their focus is on making the skin better. It took me a while to realize that the focus of this particular lotion is to keep the skin hydrated for a very long time (24 hours). By doing that it solves all the other issues that come with dry skin like patches, itchiness, and dullness.
Due to the cold weather, I had dry patches around my eyes. Earlier I had to apply another moisturizer at least 2 to 3 times a day for those patches to disappear. Even then it would reappear like 2 days later. When I started using Aveeno moisturizing lotion, I realized the dry patches were gone for good, and that too after applying the product once every day for a week.
The other Aveeno product that I used some time back had a thick balm texture. It was such a sticky and greasy texture that only people with extremely damaged and dry skin should use it. But this one was made for everyday use of normal to slightly dry skin it had a lighter texture. Also, the lotion is absorbed quickly without feeling greasy on the skin.
Apart from my face, I have been applying lotion to my hands and my legs. The result has been fully hydrated and clear skin. Since I started using this moisturizing lotion, I haven’t seen any breakouts. This has definitely proved that the product worked well for my skin.
Final Thoughts
In an era of gimmick products, Aveeno is really a safe bet for someone who doesn’t want to mess with their skin. No drugstore skincare brand delivers the quality that Aveeno does. Also, while talking about Aveeno, one can’t forget to mention how affordable it is. This 300 ml Aveeno bottle is enough to last for over a year and that too for a price of $10.
