Focallure Staymax Foundation Review

Focallure Staymax foundation review

It has been a while since I reviewed any Focallure product on this website, so I decided to try their Staymax Foundation. Some years back I tried their Skin Evolution Foundation and it was an alright experience. While the Skin Evolution Foundation had some pros and cons, I wanted to see how much Focallure has improved in its Staymax Foundation line. Without further ado, let’s dive straight into the review.

Product Description

Focallure Staymax Foundation is a long-wearing, full-coverage foundation that is designed to provide a flawless finish that lasts all day. This foundation is formulated with a lightweight, oil-free formula that blends seamlessly into the skin to create a smooth and natural-looking complexion.

The foundation comes in a range of shades to match a variety of skin tones, and it is designed to provide buildable coverage, meaning that you can apply more products to achieve a higher level of coverage as needed.

In addition to providing a flawless finish, Focallure Staymax Foundation also contains ingredients that help to nourish and hydrate the skin. These ingredients include hyaluronic acid, which helps to hydrate and plump the skin, and vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from environmental damage.

Review of Focallure Staymax Foundation

Skin Tone: I chose the color 03 cream and it matched perfectly with the skin

Packaging: The packaging of Focallure Staymax Foundation consists of a sleek, beige tube with a screw-on cap. The tube has a narrow nozzle that dispenses the foundation in controlled amounts. Overall, the packaging of Focallure Staymax Foundation is practical, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

Texture: The consistency of the foundation is quite good. It’s neither too runny nor too thick.

Scent: There is a strong scent that hits you as soon as you uncap the tube. The scent is not unpleasant in any way but it is a bit strong. For those who prefer little to no scent in their makeup, this will be a pass.

My Experience

I ordered the foundation online so I had no idea about the exact size of the product. When I received the package, I felt a bit disappointed by seeing the little quantity of the foundation which only filled the tube to half. All the other Focallure products I have tried had a generous quantity but this one was different.

However, moving past that initial shock I was happy that the 03 cream shade matched my skin tone quite well unlike the last time if you don’t know what I am talking about check out the Skin Evolution review. After the initial arm swatch, I started applying the foundation on my face. If you can tolerate the strong lavender scent only then I will recommend it putting the product on your face.

The foundation has buildable coverage which means you control if it will provide full coverage or medium. I have found that most of these “buildable” foundations usually only provide medium coverage. Initially, I used a sponge for this foundation but that just absorbed too much product. Using a makeup brush would have been a much better choice here.

The foundation glided quite easily and it did give a fair amount of coverage. Then I did the rest of my makeup and the foundation looked all right. It didn’t settle in dry patches or break. The last Focallure foundation I used oxidized after a while which is why I wanted to see if they have improved their formula this time.

Well, unfortunately, this one also oxidized a bit and turned into a bit of an orange shade. I don’t know what it is with Focallure foundations oxidizing on my skin. The only thing with Staymax was that it didn’t oxidize as quickly as Skin Evolution.

Final Thoughts

I have liked other Focallure products but I guess their foundations just aren’t for me. If you do find their foundation that works for you and doesn’t oxidize then it could be a good purchase for you. For foundation, I think I will stick to the Maybelline and NYX as they seemed to have perfected the formula for everyday foundation, also their shade range is quite better. Unfortunately, Focallure Staymax was a total miss for me, I hope in the future they do have a foundation that’ll work for me!
